Katlin Spain is getting a lot of local recognition in Key West due to the mural at the Casa Marina, right off the lobby to the left side you will find an intimate bar called the “Canary Room”. It is one of Key West’s best kept secrets for speakeasy vibes, great cocktails and to be immersed in a 360 degree artwork. At first glance, most people think it is intricate wallpaper but they soon realize it is all hand painted oil brush strokes directly on the walls.
The Canary Room has become a staple of the Casa Marina Hotel and a focal point of the amenities provided by the property. Just last month, Katlin completed an outdoor extension of the Canary Room on the West Wing part of the Casa Marina for the purpose of an outdoor lounge space or ideal for cocktail hours and small events hosted by the property. It is an amazing addition to that portion of the grounds which might have been overlooked before.
This new mural emphasizes the flora and fauna of the tropical paradise of Key West with (7) seven 14 foot tall palms between the iconinc Flagler arches that eventually lead you down to the main focal point of the outdoor mural at the end of the West Wing courtyard.
