WORKING GALLERY + STUDIO
2025 was a year full growth for Island Contemporary as we moved locations from Duval to a bigger and better space in the heart of old town, just around the corner from our old location. This new space is significantly bigger than any space we’ve had before and are blessed with a working studio and gallery, all in one.

The energy and creative spirts are in full swing daily in our upstairs area where the “magic” is made. In this special nook, Katlin mixes her oil paints indiscriminately without repercussions of paint splattering on the walls or spilling on anything because its a creative space and no longer a public gallery where countless individuals walk about on a daily basis. We are able to continue to provide that type of gallery experience in our ground level space because the studio and gallery are separated by a level of stairs that creates a clear distinction from working studio to formal gallery experience.

Prior to this location, Katlin had to set up and breakdown easels, paints, palate plates and brushes all in a 250 square foot space day in and day out while simultaneously keeping a presentable gallery studio. You can still have that unique experience and see into Katlin’s visual working mind by visiting our 105 Fitzpatrick location and making an appointment for a studio visit and consultation or you can simply swing by and see our beautiful gallery space from Monday to Sunday (closed Wednesdays) from 10am to 5pm; we might show you a sneak peek upstairs!

We plan to put so much more love and energy into this location in 2026 so stay tuned for curated exhibitions, art classes, collaborations with other local Key West artists and nighttime events.
